Features, why a-webshop?

This page gives you the main features of a-webshop. The webshop can have a custom design with custom code, custom images and custom files. The design of the webshop is responsive and works great on different devices with different screen resolutions. A webshop makes it possible for you to sell on international markets, it is search engine optimized and have interesting functions to handle different products. The webshop has order processing functionality and provides many different payment options.


You can create multiple themes in a-webshop, every theme has a set of standard templates that are added to a newly created theme. Standard templates that are added to a-webshop in an update will be added automatically to all of your themes in the upgrade process. You can add new template files in a theme, you can export all the template files from a theme to a zip-file and you can import templates to a theme from a zip-file.

When you edit a standard template, you can see the content of the master file at the right side and you are able to merge code from the master file to your custom template. Updates to a-webshop may change the code in master files but you can always compare your custom templates to master files and implement master file changes with a simple button click in the center panel of the editing window.

You can delete templates in a theme but you should make sure that the template that you want to delete not is referenced from other templates. You can upload custom images and custom files that you can use in your templates. Custom files could for example be css-files or js-files. You will be able to see the folder paths to custom images and custom files in the backend interface of a-webshop.


You will be able sell your products on international markets with a-webshop. You can have multiple domains in a-webshop, every domain has its own domain name and you can set the frontend language, the backend language, the company, the currency and the theme to use for each domain. All of the entites in a-webshop can be translated into different languages and prices is automatically recalculated into different currencies.

You can assign different companies to different domains and you can have different value added tax rates for different languages, you can set one value added tax rate for a product in Sweden and another value added tax rate for the product in USA. There is also special rules that is applied to the checkout that automatically can remove the VAT from the order if the sale is considered as EU-trade or export. The checkout process is also able to check if a VAT-number (EU) is correct.


You can add and handle many different types of products in a-webshop. A product can have product options like color and size. Product options makes it possible to hold down the total number of products in the webshop. The webshop handles price calculations and product codes based on the options that the customer selects.

You can create product bundles, add accessories to products and sell downloadable files with version handling in a-webshop. If you just want to mediate a sale then you can add a affilate link for a product and the customer will be redirected to the url of the link when he clicks the buy button. You can add products that only are available for pre-ordering and the text on the buy button will automatically change to Preorder.

You can easily change all the prices of products by a percentage and you can get product statistics about pageviews, buys and the number of times the product has been added to the shopping cart. You can add multiple images for products and you can also create variant images that will show based on selected product options in the webshop. Product images can be zoomed and scaled to its orginal size.


The webshop is built with a responsive design pattern, it will automatically detect if the visitor uses a computer or a mobile device and set the default layout accordingly. The user can also change the layout to use with a simple click on a link. There is two different layouts for the frontend of the webshop and the mobile layout adjusts to the screen size.


The webshop is designed to be search engine optimized. You can set meta tags including the robots tag for categories, products and static pages. Domains can be redirected from HTTP to HTTPS and from a non-WWW address to a WWW address, you can also set a domain to be excluded from search engines. You can create a sitemap for each of your domains.

The product page has be been marked up with microdata and all pages have og-tags. Microdata makes it possible for search engines to show more information about your page than just the information in meta-tags. Search engines can show a product image, the rating, the number of reviews and the prices in its search results.


The webshop has social integrations with Facebook, Google, PinIt, Twitter and LinkedIn. Visitors can like your pages, tweet about your pages and pin your images. Customers can also sign in with there facebook account or there google account. You can create newsletters and send them to your customers.

You can create campaigns to be able to make some products or some information more visible in the webshop. You can also create Google Shopping files that you can add to your Google Merchant account. Customers can create reviews for your products and every review also includes a rating of your product. Ratings and reviews can help you to sell more of your products.


You can sell to both private and company customers and decide if you want to show prices with or without VAT. The customer can also easily switch to show prices with VAT or without VAT. The checkout can include additional services that the customer can choose from, these services can have prices and will be included in the order confirmation.

There is some built-in payment options that can be added to checkout process and there is also possible to add your own payment options like invoice or pre-invoice. You can currently add payment solutions from PayPal, Payson, PayEx and SVEA to your checkout. An order confirmation is sent to the customer and to you by email, the customer can view all of his historical orders when he is signed-in to his account. The order status and the payment status of an order can be changed and the customer can check the current status of an order when he is signed-in to his account.


You can connect each domain to a Google Analytics account and you can see total pageviews for categories and products in the backend interface of the webshop. You can get detailed order sale statistics for different countries or all countries, grouped by different time periods like day, week, month and year. You can drill down in the order sale statistics report to see all the orders in the time period and sale statistics for unique products.


The webshop has a Web API that enables developers to create applications that interact with a-webshop. Connections to the Web API is made with an administrator account that has an API role. The Web API includes methods to add, update, translate, get and delete posts in the database for a-webshop. You can also upload and delete images with methods in the Web API. Applications can be created for three different trust levels depending on how much the applikation needs to do. Full trust is required to add and delete posts. The Web API makes it possible to create applications that interact with ERP-systems or other systems that is important to run a business.


Categories can be nested in an unlimited number of levels and a-webshop can handle categories that includes both categories and products. You can set the meta robot tag for categories to be able to exclude categories from search engines. Categories can be sorted on different fields in ascending or descending order and the visitor can set the page size. Categories can have a main image that is visible in category listings and environment images that can be viewed in slideshows.

You can add static pages that are connected to a function in the webshop or standalone pages that can be reached from the menu. The start page, terms of purchase and error pages can have a connection to a static page. Static pages can be added to provide information or other marketing material.


The webshop has a rich backend interface where you can manage your webshop. You can add, update and delete administrators for the webshop. You can select one of three administrator roles for an administrator, a role decides what the administrator is allowed to do in the backend interface. You can also add administrators with API roles, an administrator with a API role are only allowed to connect to the Web API and can not sign-in to the backend interface of the webshop.
